Jimmy Eriksson does well, Dennis van de Laar strong as best rookie + RESULTS

ASSEN – Jimmy Eriksson has done excellent business in the fight for the German Formula 3 championship. The Lotus driver took pole position, the victory and drove the fastest race lap at the TT Circuit Assen. Rene Binder finished for Van Amersfoort Racing less than two seconds behind in second place, ahead of Kimiya Sato. Dennis van de Laar drove an excellent race and was rewarded with fourth place, as best rookie. The third VAR driver Lucas Auer, nephew of former F1 driver Gerhard Berger, finished ninth. Auer had a fantastic start but turned out to have started too early, which resulted in a drive-through penalty. The same was true for Mitchell Gilbert, who was running in third.

Dennis van de Laar drove excellently and set fast lap times. The Zandvoort native started seventh, had to swerve after an incident between Sato and Mettler right in front of him but closed an eight-second gap and passed several competitors, with the podium spot for best rookie as a nice reward.
