Max Verstappen werd vorige week door Red Bull aangekondigd dat hijde overstap naar Red Bull Racing maakt. Het 18-jarige Nederlandse Formule 1-talent promoveert daarmee van Scuderia Toro Rosso naar het hoofdteam van Red Bull. Dit betekent dat Max al aankomende week bij de Formule 1 Grand Prix van Spanje zijn eerste ronden in de voor hem nieuwe bolide van Red Bull Racing zal draaien. Nieuw team, nieuwe raceauto (RB12) en een nieuwe outfit.
