Max Verstappen NIET, Johan Cruijff WEL
Laureus World Sport Awards 2016 Berlijn. Niet Max Verstappen won de Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year, maar concurrent en golfer Jordan Spieth. De Laureus Spirit of Sport Award was voor de onlangs overleden Johan Cruijff. Verder was de autosport goed vertegenwoordigd in Berlijn met onder andere Niki Lauda, Nico Rosberg en Mika Hakkinen. Op het jaarlijkse feestje won Niki Lauda de Lifetime achievement award. Verder waren er heel veel coryfeeën uit de sportwereld.
