Renault in trouble at Sepang
SEPANG - The Renault F1 team experienced major problems with their front suspension on the R31 this morning during the first free practice session at the Malaysia circuit. The Russian Vitaly Petrov slid into the gravel in turn nine after experiencing a problem with his front left wheel, and his German teammate Nick Heidfeld had already entered the pits shortly before after his front right wheel seized.
Renault will now likely keep both cars in the pits during this afternoon's second free practice session until they have found the cause of the problems.
