Last year Charles Leclerc battled Max Verstappen in Austria for the win, but if we are to believe his team boss Mattia Binotto, the chance of seeing the same fight again this year is much smaller. The team boss of Ferrari also knows that the pre-season was not very successful and that Mercedes and Red Bull are probably faster. Or is Binotto trying to play hide-and-seek and will we all be surprised by a strong Ferrari at the Red Bull Ring?

Last year, after the winter test, Ferrari seemed to be the fastest team, but from the first race in Australia, it was Mercedes that once again dominated Formula 1. The big question is how Ferrari stands now. "During the long closure of the factories, we have been able to do little work," says Binotto in an interview with the Spanish Marca. "We have not been able to develop the car in the wind tunnel."

"We have recently started again and hope to improve our weak points, but the car is still comparable to how it would be at the start in March in Australia. Development will only come later," Binotto is realistic.

"I don't expect us to have the fastest car in Austria, but we will try to collect as many championship points as possible from the start. Later in the season, we will respond to that with updates. Although development is limited by the regulations to freeze some parts. We have accepted these rules because we take our responsibility. It will be difficult, but not impossible. After three races, we will know the true potential of our car."
