Sebastian Vettel zal zondag zijn thuisrace op de Hockenheimring starten vanaf pole-position. De Duitser ziet Valtteri Bottas naast hem staan op P2. Op de tweede rij staan Kimi Raikkonen op P3 met Max Verstappen op P4. Lewis Hamilton, die uitviel tijdens Q1, zal vanaf de veertiende positie starten. Daarmee krijgt de Brit het niet makkelijk. De teamgenoot van Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo, start achteraan vanwege gridstraffen.
